Patrick - The dog above is Patrick – a one year old Pit Bull.
Someone wrapped him up into a plastic garbage bag and tossed him down an apartment
trash chute after nearly starving him to death. He was unloved and unwanted.
He was found the day before St. Patrick’s Day barely alive.
He was taken to a N.J. animal hospital where by some miracle; he survived
and became known as “The Patrick Miracle”.
Patrick’s long road to recovery launched a movement. On the internet, Patrick’s story went viral
spawning fan groups from all over the U.S. He inspired donations from strangers as far away as Europe. Under the
New Jersey
animal abuse laws the woman who did this to Patrick would at the maximum receive as
a punishment only six months incarceration, $1,000 fine, and community service.

Snoop - The dog above is Snoop - a puppy found dead on a Wisconsin sidewalk.
He had been kept in a small pen - two feet tall and three feet long in the living room of his
owners and slowly starved to death. The dog’s owner told police, he stopped feeding
the dog about three weeks after purchasing him and the dog became sick, to the point where it could
not stand up. He said he decided to carry the dog to a sidewalk two blocks away
and lay him on the ground. He said the dog put his head on the ground and just laid
there. A necropsy determined the dog died from systematic organ failure due to extreme malnutrition
that was complicated by dehydration and exposure.
Under Wisconsin animal abuse laws the man was charged with a felony I – the
lowest felony in Wisconsin. If convicted, the maximum this man would receive is three years in prison and $10,000 fine.
